Day 1 Kuala Lumpur
 
(Monday) Arrival in Kuala Lumpur and transfer to the hotel. Day at leisure. For example, get to know the countless shopping malls in Bukit Bintang on an extensive shopping spree. One night at the Grand Mercure Kuala Lumpur Bukit Bintang (upper middle class, national category: 4 stars).

Day 2 Kuala Lumpur – Malacca
 
(Tuesday) After breakfast at around 8.30 a.m., you will set off for the UNESCO World Heritage city of Malacca. Here you will visit St. Peter’s Church, the oldest Christian church in Malaysia. You will drive past a large Chinese cemetery from the 17th century and also see the Stadthuys and the Cheng Hoon Teng Temple, which is one of the oldest in the whole of Malaysia. Your excursion also takes you to the Portuguese fortress Porta de Santiago, built in 1511, and to the ruins of St. Paul’s Church, where St. Francis Xavier was once buried. Afterwards, you can stroll along Jonker Street and admire the countless antiques for sale there. You will have lunch in a local restaurant and then enjoy a 40-minute boat trip on the Malacca River to admire the historic buildings and a fishing village from the water. Day 3 Malacca – Kuala Lumpur
 
(Wednesday) In the morning you drive back to Kuala Lumpur. A city tour is on the program today. You will make a photo stop at the Petronas Twin Towers and drive up to the Petronas Sky Bridge. You will make further photo stops at the National Mosque and the Royal Palace and then visit the Sultan Abdul Samad Building and the Cricket Club. Then check in at your overnight hotel. In the evening, discover Chinatown by night. You will visit the lively markets in this district. Try your hand at bargaining to buy a few souvenirs to take home. You will also visit the Sri Mariamman Temple, where you can experience the Chinese tradition at first hand. The countless incense sticks spread a pleasant scent of jasmine throughout the temple complex. Day 4 Kuala Lumpur
 
(Thursday) The morning is free for your own activities. In the afternoon, drive to Kuala Selangor (approx. 90 min. drive) to get to know rural Malaysia. Fishing and agriculture are the main sources of income in this region and the landscape is characterized by palm trees and rubber plantations. You visit a Chinese fishing village and have dinner there before taking a boat trip on the river later in the evening to watch the countless glowworms. Thousands of tiny lights bathe the mangrove-lined banks in a romantic light. You then drive back to your hotel. (Breakfast, dinner).
 
 
 
Day 5 Kuala Lumpur – Cameron Highlands
 
 
(Friday) Departure in the morning in the direction of Cameron Highlands. On the way, just outside Kuala Lumpur, you will reach the famous Batu Caves. There you climb the 272 steps to the Hindu temple and visit it. The journey continues north. On the way, stop at the Lata Iskandar waterfall. You will reach the Cameron Highlands, with its pleasant climate at an altitude of around 1540 meters, in the afternoon. 2 nights at Strawberry Park Resort (middle class, national category: 3 stars). Day 6 Cameron Highlands
 
(Saturday) After breakfast, you will explore the picturesque village on a half-day tour. You will visit a tea plantation and then have the opportunity to stroll through the local market and watch the hustle and bustle. You make a photo stop at a vegetable and strawberry farm and then visit a butterfly farm and a rose garden. You take a walk around Tanah Rata before returning to your hotel. The afternoon is at leisure. (Breakfast).
 
 
 
Day 7 Cameron Highlands – Penang
 
(Sunday) The journey continues to Penang. On the way, stop at the Perka Tong cave temple. Cross the fourth longest bridge in Southeast Asia to reach Penang. You will visit one of six Chinese water villages (pile dwelling village) built on jetties before reaching your hotel. In the evening, stroll together through the Pasar Malam night market (weather permitting). Here you can haggle for pretty souvenirs such as local handicrafts, jewelry or T-shirts and sample the local cuisine at the night market stalls. 2 nights in the Areca Hotel (upper middle class, national category: 4 stars). Approx. 259 km (breakfast, dinner).

Day 8 Penang
 
(Monday) Today you will visit historic Georgetown, including the statue of the reclining Buddha in the temple Wat Chayamangkalaram. Afterwards, you will visit the Burmese temple Dhammikarama. This was the first Buddhist temple to be built on Penang in 1803 and is richly decorated. In the “Street of Harmony” you can see how a Christian church, a Chinese temple, a Hindu temple and a Muslim mosque coexist peacefully here. Admire beautiful wood carvings in the magnificent hall of Khoo Kongsi and make a brief stop at Fort Cornwallis. You will have lunch in a local restaurant (not included). The afternoon is at leisure. (Breakfast).
Day 9 Penang
 
(Tuesday) Breakfast at the overnight hotel and transfer to Penang Airport. End of the trip at Penang Airport. (Breakfast).
