Day 2 TAIPEI – SUN MOON LAKE

We begin our Taiwan adventure departing from the heart of Taipei, heading to the charming Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area, one of the island’s most iconic destinations. 🌅

This majestic lake, the largest freshwater lake in Taiwan, is divided by Lalu Island: its eastern side evokes the sun, and the western side resembles a crescent moon, giving it its poetic name. In addition to its natural beauty, it is the ancestral home of the Thao people, one of the island’s indigenous ethnic groups.

After lunch (not included), we will enjoy a panoramic bus tour around the lake, with stops at its main attractions:

✨ Ita Thao Village – discover the culture and lifestyle of the Thao.

✨ Ci’en Pagoda – an imposing monument built by Chiang Kai-shek in honor of his mother.

✨ Xuanzang Temple – a serene Buddhist shrine dedicated to the revered monk Xuanzang.

✨ Wenwu Temple – majestic Taoist temple dedicated to the gods of Literature and War.

With our guide’s explanations, you’ll not only admire unforgettable landscapes but also understand the cultural and historical depth surrounding this magical place.

At the end of the day, you’ll enjoy a hotel stay, either facing the lake in a relaxing natural setting or in the vibrant center of Taichung. 🏨

Day 3 SUN MOON LAKE → TAINAN → KAOHSIUNG

After a delicious breakfast, we continue our adventure south to Tainan, Taiwan’s oldest city, renowned for its rich history and architectural heritage. 🏯

Here we will visit:

✨ Fort Zeelandia, built by the Dutch East India Company during its 38-year rule in the west of the island. Although severely damaged in the 19th century, it was restored by the Japanese, preserving its great historical value.

✨ Anping Old Street, located next to the fort, was the first officially named street in Taiwan more than 300 years ago. Today it combines tradition and history with irresistible cuisine: tofu pudding, shrimp rolls, fish skin, beef soup, and more. A cultural and culinary feast you won’t want to miss! 🍤🥢

After lunch (not included), we will depart for Kaohsiung, the vibrant and most populous port city in southern Taiwan. Our first stop will be Fo Guang Shan Monastery, one of the most important Buddhist complexes in the country, founded in 1967.

Here you will discover:

✨ The 36-meter Golden Buddha, the tallest in Southeast Asia, surrounded by 480 smaller statues of Amitabha.

✨ The unique opportunity to chat with a monk, who will share teachings about Buddhism, the most widely practiced religion in Taiwan.

At the end of the day, you will check into a hotel in downtown Kaohsiung, surrounded by shopping malls and shops, ideal for relaxing and taking advantage of the amenities before continuing to explore the island. 🏨✨

Day 4 KAOHSIUNG – KENTING – TAITUNG

After a delicious breakfast, we head south to discover the legendary Kenting National Park, Taiwan’s first national park. 🌿🌊

Renowned for its coastal landscapes, unique geological formations, and marine biodiversity, Kenting is also a paradise for surfers and divers.

During the day, we will visit:

✨ Maopitou (Cat’s Nose) – a rock formation reminiscent of a giant crouching cat.

✨ Chuanfan Rock (Sail Rock) – a spectacular rock shaped like a ship’s sail (or even the profile of former President Nixon!).

✨ Eluanpi Lighthouse – a historic Qing-era lighthouse, considered one of the “Eight Wonders of Taiwan” during the Japanese era.

✨ Longpan Park – a coral limestone plateau with stunning views of the Pacific Ocean.

After the visit, we continue our journey to Taitung along the scenic South Link Highway, enjoying a journey filled with changing landscapes and unforgettable views. 🌄

The day ends in Zhiben, where we’ll spend the night at a hot spring resort. ♨️

Its carbonated springs, known for improving circulation and relieving fatigue, will be the perfect reward for relaxing and recharging after a day of exploration. ✨

Day 5 TAITUNG → EAST COAST NATIONAL SCENIC AREA → HUALIEN → YILAN

After a restful night and a delicious breakfast, we continued our tour of Taiwan, this time along the stunning east coast, known as the island’s last unspoiled wilderness. 🌊🏞️ Each stop surprises with unique and unforgettable natural landscapes.

Highlights of the day:

✨ Xiaoyehliu (Fugang Geopark / “Little Yehliu”) – Marvel at unique rock formations, shaped by sea and wind erosion, similar to those at Yehliu Geopark in northern Taiwan.

✨ Sanxiantai (“Terrace of the Three Immortals”) – a cluster of islands and coral reefs connected to the mainland by a bridge over the sea, an icon of the East Coast National Scenic Area.

✨ Shitiping (“Stone Stairs”) – a marine terrace sculpted over millions of years, with cliffs, grooves, and erosion platforms, a true open-air geological classroom.

We conclude the tour with a train ride from Hualien to Yilan, enjoying the comfort and panoramic views as we approach our next destination. 🚆🌄

Day 6 YILAN / TAIPEI

After a delicious breakfast at your hotel, get ready for the final day of your tour of Taiwan. 🏞️🚍 Today, your guide will accompany you on two unique experiences that combine tradition and flavor.

🍀 King Car Kavalan Whisky Distillery – World-renowned for its exceptional flavors, crafted with the pure waters of the Central Mountain Range and Xueshan Mountain. Immerse yourself in the aroma of the whisky and discover the secrets of its aging in oak barrels, enjoying a fascinating tour of the distillery.

🎭 National Center for Traditional Arts – A cultural park that showcases the richness of Taiwanese heritage through exquisite traditional buildings, exhibits, workshops, and live performances. From puppet shows to pottery classes, there are activities for all tastes.

The tour culminates with a bus transfer back to Taipei, dropping you off at your hotel or a designated drop-off point, concluding an incredible adventure around the island. 🏙️✨
